Hi! Can you give any study advice to students who must work & go to school? After Fundamentals (Med-Surg 1) I was a little shocked at the amount of content we had to memorize in such a short period of time.. I became overwhelmed rather quickly and I bombed my Fluid & Electrolyte exam. S&S of one imbalance was the S&S of the other & I panicked on my exam. I ended up failing my course by one point. In hindsight I realize that I spent too much time making sure my notes were typed/organized then I did trying to memorize them. I tried to read all the text, but could never finish it all, and it didn't leave me enough time to review. It just seemed like I was all over the place (kind of like this comment lol).
I am looking for any kind of advice you can give on study tips & also any advice on studying Fluids & Electrolytes.
Hi :) i have been reading ur posts for the past hour or so and they were REALLY helpful! Im a highschool student (going to 11th) and i experienced a lot of things to make me want to become a nurse. but... i dont know a few things.. 1. what should we study in highschool 2. (average) GPA requirements and SAT 3. the undergrad and grad.... very confusing T.T (like when do u learn the basics and when can you train to become a specialized nurse?) (sorry for the stupid questions T.T sorry T.T)
I know our family members and friends will never understand what we deal with being in nursing school, but do you have any advice on what to say or do to give them an idea? My parents think i am being overly dramatic when i am stressed out, and sometimes even crying, about a test or a skills check off. Every time i have tried to explain to them what my day-to-day school world consists of they just say 'well if the program is too hard then just drop out!' I try to work and i pay them rent, along with going to school full time. They let my siblings have friends over and keep me up till all hours of the night on school days, they dont work with me on letting me know when people are coming over so i can plan to study somewhere else, and they dont seem to care at all when i get upset that people are being loud and distracting when i am trying to study. I just dont know what to do anymore, and i just need them to be more understanding and supportive.
I am sorry I have missed these great questions. I know you all are probably long gone, never to return to the site, but I will do my best to answer them for future nursing students who are looking for the same answers. Check back soon for updates!
